What’s it about?
It’s impossible to avoid the stories and hype surrounding AI, including its widely-feared threat to creative integrity and jobs. With so many ethical concerns over AI, should journalists embrace it or avoid it?
Over an hour, we’ll explore what a few free AI tools can – and can’t – do. Aimed at journalists and creators with limited or no experience of AI, there will be a brief overview of AI principles plus insights from guidelines put in place by major media operators. The focus will be on text-based generative AI, rather than image creation.
Important note for participants: This workshop is not intended as a forum for debate on AI and does not imply support for the use of AI. The aim is to support individual knowledge and understanding to help put you in the driving seat.
