Trainer – SA Mathieson
Producing editorial material for companies, government bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) can be rewarding and interesting work. Creating material such as opinion articles, reports and publications for corporates requires strong journalistic skills as well as high levels of organisation and professionalism.
This one-hour course will provide an introduction to the following:
- How to find corporate work: some may be listed, particularly public sector work, but much of it relies on approaching potential clients and being ready to respond to requests.
- Specific skills: how to write on behalf of someone else and manage repeated rounds of editing.
- Project management: how to support longer-term projects effectively.
The course is aimed at freelancers, journalists and comms professionals looking to diversify their work and understand the demands of writing for the corporate sector.
About the trainer – SA Mathieson SA Mathieson has worked as a freelance writer and editor for more than 15 years, including for companies and NGOs, and often writes about government procurement. He runs training courses for the NUJ and teaches data journalism to students at Oxford Brookes University and apprentice journalists at Bauer Academy. He lives in north-west Oxfordshire, just 80 miles from the Welsh border.
