This refresher session is aimed at more experienced candidates who want to bring existing media law knowledge up to date.
This 3 hour online session will be looking at the latest developments in the laws that affect journalists working in online, print or broadcast media.
The session will cover:
- Libel
- Contempt
- Privacy, confidentiality and data protection
- Reporting restrictions in the courts
- Sexual offences
- Copyright
- Media ethics and watchdogs
The session will take the form of a presentation and short workshop with plenty of opportunities for discussion of individual issues or concerns.
Slides and supporting notes will be made available to those attending on the day.

You are only eligible to register for this course if you live and/or work in Wales because it is funded by Welsh Government.
