This one-day conference supported by NUJ Training Wales and run by Cardiff University’s Centre for Community Journalism (C4CJ), and the Independent Community News Network (ICNN) is being held at the University’s School of Journalism, Media and Culture in its new state-of-the-art home in Cardiff’s city centre.

This conference will bring together community journalists, academics, policymakers, innovators and technologists to explore the future of independent community news, celebrate its recent successes, hear from its most ardent practitioners, and share new ideas, skills, and tools to help build the next generation of community and hyperlocal news.

The day is guaranteed to be enlightening, inspiring and underpinned by active participation.

C4CJ and ICNN are committed to diversity and inclusivity and we are looking for amazing speakers with diverse backgrounds and representations.

Attendees should make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation, however, you can find information to help you do this at the Centre for Community Journalism website. Visit to keep up-to-date information on speakers.
