SHIRISH KULKARNI

Written By Zena Chandler-Burnell | Posted By Zena Chandler-Burnell | Published 13th September 2019
Shirish Kulkarni, the new Community Organiser at the Bureau of investigative journalism

Shirish Kulkarni is an award-winning journalist, trainer and drone operator. After a 20 year career in national newsrooms at ITN and Sky, he returned home to Wales to go freelance.

Since then, he’s focussed largely on investigative journalism projects. His work uncovering the British Steel Pensions Scandal won a Wales Media Award and led to a parliamentary inquiry and a ban on pensions cold-calling. He now works as a Community Organiser for the Bureau of Investigative Journalism’s “Bureau Local” team and has just won a Clwstwr Creadigol grant to carry out research into innovative forms of news storytelling.

We are very excited that Shirish has agreed to be one of our guest speakers at the 4th Freelancers Salon in Cardiff on the 12th of October. Book here!
