Louise has worked in journalism since 1978 and has been freelance since 2005. She has written for a wide range of newspapers and magazines, worked in BBC local radio and was co-founder of hyperlocal news website Inside the M60 in Manchester. She currently works mainly as a subeditor – alongside she edits for corporates and book publishers, does website copywriting and offers writing training to businesses. She is a former of the NUJ’s Freelance Industrial Council, Professional Training Committee (ProfCom) and Disabled Members Council.
