Anna Wynn Roberts

Anna Roberts

Anna Wynn Roberts

With a background in video journalism Anna was an early proponent of multi-skilling in the early 1990s, covering stories in Kosovo, North Korea, Afghanistan, Russia, Somalia and many other countries, including the UK. For five years she worked as a freelance director-camerawoman making documentaries for BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and S4C. Most recently she was Head of Training at the Thomson Foundation in Cardiff.

Anna is confident that NUJ Training Wales can equip members for the digital media economy, helping them to get work and stay in work. Help us to help you by letting us know what you need.

Anna Miller

Anna Miller (née Brees) is the Project Coordinator for NUJ Training Wales. With 10 years experience in print and TV journalism, Anna understands the thrills of being a journalist but also, for some, what’s become the ever present threat of redundancy.

Anna worked for ITV regional news as a presenter and reporter for six years and at the BBC as a presenter and producer for a year. Her new role working on training in Wales with the NUJ has given her a new challenge and a welcome one, assisting journalists like herself in training for new ventures, and adapting to the ever changing landscape that is digital and social media.

Working for the NUJ for over 10 years, I am passionate about education and, from its instigation in 1998, have lead the development of the NUJ training department including both professional and trade union training for members. We now offer a large variety of industry-based courses along with information, advice and guidance.

As well as working closely with members to assess changing skills needs and deliver the most appropriate training, our work includes collaboration with other unions, learning partners, employers and the Government. We have a large proportion of freelance members and continue to work on their behalf to facilitate the skills development opportunities that they need.
