Blogs on Redundancy
Read blogs by Steve Jones: Losing your Job: End of the Line or a New Opportunity? and Claire Gardiner: Redundancy and Fake Tan Don’t Mix on their experience of redundancy from Media Wales.
In his second blog, A Journalist Without a Deadline is Like …., a few months and several training courses later, Steve reflects on the motivation required to look for jobs.
Funding for skills training and NUJ Training Wales’ Career Development courses
Those on notice of redundancy or made redundant in the last six months are eligible to apply for skills development funds from the Welsh National Council of Education and Training’s ReAct scheme.
You can get more information on ReAct II from the ReAct Team in Swansea, from your local Careers Wales office or from Learning and Careers Advice on 0800 100 900.
See Other Course Providers on this website for bodies which run courses eligible for ReAct funding. We suggest that you contact ReAct before applying for courses to check eligibility.
TUC development officers are on hand to provide advice and guidance on the application process to both individuals and groups. If necessary, they will visit you to help with the application and to ensure that funding is confirmed quickly.
The TUC also provides briefings to union reps and members on demand to ensure that everyone is aware of the funding opportunities and application process.
For more information contact TUC development officer Deri Bevan on 07769 971 336
